WELCOME TO THE HOOKSETT SOCCER CLUB

About HYAA Soccer

Hooksett Youth Athletic Association Soccer (HYAA) is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to the promotion and development of soccer in and around the town of Hooksett. Our purpose is youth soccer and our primary interest is in your children.

We are all excited about each new season and we make a special commitment to each of you to provide you with the best youth soccer in the area.

Youth soccer is good for our community. At its best, it inspires teamwork, respect for rules and authority, allegiance to others and self-confidence. It stresses fitness, endurance and hard play at a time when bodies are developing and lifetime habits are being formed.

Our primary objective in youth soccer is for the players to have fun with an emphasis on teaching good sportsmanship and improving skills and knowledge of the game, and coaches will provide a game format that will allow for this. The coaches of the older, more experienced teams will also work on fitness as well as the technical and tactical aspects of the game.

VISION STATEMENT

HYAA Soccer will be the model of excellence for the promotion and the development of soccer throughout the State of New Hampshire.

Global Mission Statement and Guidance

It is the Hooksett Youth Athletic Associations Soccer Board of Directors’ mission to provide the children in the Town of Hooksett with a fun, safe place to learn and develop their soccer skills while holding true to fair play and sportsmanship amongst all of our programs.  It is our goal to provide the players of the Town of Hooksett with the necessary tools needed to help develop each player’s skills to the best of their ability and to provide an opportunity for competitive play for players who possess the exemplary skills.

Mission Statement Examples

Travel:

The Hooksett Youth Athletic Association Soccer Travel Soccer Organization (HYAA Travel Soccer) will provide young people in the Town of Hooksett, and the surrounding communities, with the opportunity to play competitive soccer at a level that will allow them to develop their individual skills and team play to the highest level at which they are capable of playing.

It is HYAA Travel Soccer’s focus to help grow and develop each player’s individual skills with a primary focus on club training up until the player reaches the U12 division when team standings are kept and playoffs are held.  At that time the players will have an opportunity to play in a highly competitive division which will afford them an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in a high paced game setting.

Recreation Soccer:

The Hooksett Youth Athletic Association Soccer Club exists to promote the development of youth soccer in our community through participation in athletic competition. Our goal is to provide activities that offer recreational, social and physical development for children of all skill levels. We are committed to providing participants with the opportunity to develop athletically and personally in a positive, supportive, and safe environment.  All players regardless of prior skills are welcome in the recreational program.

Program Definitions

Travel:

As players develop their skills through the recreational program offered by Hooksett Youth Athletic Association Soccer, the children will have an opportunity to try out for the HYAA Soccer Travel Club which elevates the level of competition and training for those players who are dedicated to cultivating their soccer skills.  All players are welcome to try out for the travel program. The clubs teams will travel to other local communities where they will play against other Granite State Soccer League travel teams.  In addition there are various annual tournaments that teams may be invited to participate in that would require out of state travel and perhaps an overnight stay.

***The fees for Hooksett Travel are based on seasonal commitment and range from $90 to $300

Currently Hooksett offers travel programs at the following age groups in both the spring and fall sessions and try outs are held in the summer for the season.

  • U8
  • U9
  • U10
  • U11
  • U12
  • U14

Each coach will run their respective tryout and will look for players who have advanced skills in ball control, ball striking, condition training, field management, team-minded focus, direction following and individual coachability.  Based on these requirements a travel team will be selected and will play together throughout the season.

Children who make a travel team are prohibited from playing in the Hooksett Youth Athletic Association Recreational Soccer Program.

Up until the player reaches the U12 division the primary focus of the club teams will be on player development and training, with up to 75% of their time being allocated to skill development.  Once a team reaches the U12 division the focus of the program will shift slightly and will focus on 50% training and 50% competitive play.

Recreational Program:

Hooksett Youth Athletic Association Soccer’s Recreational program is focused on providing a safe, fun, and athletic soccer program for the children of the Town of Hooksett and its surrounding communities.  Each child regardless of skills level will be afforded an opportunity to play within this program.  Signups and registration nights will be communicated to the community. The recreational program has one night of practices per week and a competition game on Saturdays.  The primary focus of the recreational program is to provide each player with an opportunity to learn about soccer while having fun.
